Well, it's time to introduce my Kelowna homestay to you.

From left to right, me, Madison, Kyle, Saige, Nicole and Neko
Different from the 3-boy family in Vancouver, my homestay family in Kelowna is made up of the dad, mom and 2 daughters.
I'll never forget the first day when I saw them at the airport.
Because I saw this.

The two pretty girls drew the pictures to welcome me.
My God. I was so overjoyed that I almost cried.
For us orientals , most foreigners look more mature.
That was the first thought coming to my mind when I saw my homemom, Nicole.
She was good in cooking, in making hand-made cards, in gardening.
And of course, she did take good care of the whole family.
Little did I think that Nicole was almost as the same age as me.
I respect Nicole not only because she treated all the foreign students with love and rules.
She did such excellent cooking and made extremely yummy desserts without being able to smell.
Nicole lost her olfaction (the sense of smell) since she was little.
This is 10-year-old Saige and me.

As you can see from the photo, Saige is so good-looking.
She was very socialable.
The time I arrived at their house,
she took me out the backyard and the park to show me the maple tree.
She also has the gift of singing.
One night Nicole showed me a video in which Saige was singing "The color of the Wind," in front of all the school.
This is the 8-year-old girl, Madison.

Madison takes after his father Kyle a lot. They both had dark hair and big and round eyes.
Madison doesn't like to take pictures, unless her family are with her.
But because Saige was the photographer, she finally agreed to do that with us.
During the week I was there, I didn't have lot of opportunities to talk to Kyle.
Due to his work, being the engineer at the airport, he had to do the night shift that week.
But at the last night, Kyle had a lot to share.
He talked about his viewpoints of having international students there to help his daugheters broaden their worldviews.
I really appreciate his open-minded points.
The last supper I had there was unforgettable.
Kyle and Nicole gave me a bottle of wine, which was the best and popular in Kelowna, as a gift and souvenier.
How lucky I was to have this host family with me!!
This wonderful family makes Kelowna a even nicer place to visit and to stay.
